Carte Bancaires is France’s local card network, providing more than 70 million cards and overseeing 60 percent of payment transactions in the country. Carte Bancaires offers a familiar and streamlined checkout experience for your French shoppers by allowing them to enter their payment details just like any other credit card.
How It Works
Once you’ve connected Carte Bancaires with Checkout.com, shoppers meeting the requirements will see it displayed as an accepted card brand next to the gateway’s display name. Shoppers can enter their Carte Bancaires payment information as they would for any other credit card to complete the transaction.
Once the order has been placed, it will appear in your control panel as Credit card (via Checkout.com) in the Payment Method field. Orders placed using Carte Bancaires share the same fulfillment process as typical orders.
Requirements
- Your store must meet the following criteria:
- Your store must be located in France.
- You must have EUR as an available transactional currency.
- Your store must use Optimized One-Page Checkout.
- Shopper Requirements
- Shoppers must use an address in France at checkout.
- Shoppers must select EUR as their transaction currency.

Why is Carte Bancaires not displayed as an available credit card option at checkout?
If your shoppers meet the above requirements and still do not see the Carte Bancaires logo next to the payment gateway at checkout, check the Accepted Cards field in the Checkout.com Settings tab of Settings › Payments to ensure that Carte Bancaires is enabled.
