Meta for BigCommerce is a free, native integration that connects your BigCommerce store to Meta.

Reach shoppers where they spend their time by using your product data with Meta’s targeted advertising and shopping tags. Promote your products and raise brand awareness on one of the largest social networks in the world.

How It Works

The app syncs your store’s catalog with Meta so you can create ad campaigns that appear in Facebook users’ feeds and offer your products for sale directly on Facebook and Instagram. It uses Feedonomics as the underlying technology for connecting and syncing data to Meta, providing merchants with faster and more reliable data synchronization at scale.

Meta Pixel is automatically added to your storefront, so you can track ad performance and collect data to make your campaigns even more effective.

For stores in the US, shoppers checkout directly on Facebook and Instagram, creating an easy and seamless shopping experience. For stores outside the US, shoppers are redirected to your BigCommerce store for checkout.

Requirements

Setup

If you are not already logged in to Facebook before starting the onboarding process, you will be prompted to do so.

Before attempting to connect, you will need to ensure that the logged-in user has the necessary Meta permissions to access and edit your Meta assets, like your Meta Business account, Page, catalog, and Meta Pixel. If you’re already logged in with the account that created these assets, then you’re ready to begin.

1. Go to Channel Manager and at the top of the page, click Create Channel.

2. Scroll down to Marketplaces, then click Connect next to Facebook.

3. If you're using another solution for Meta pixel tracking, or don't want to use Meta Pixel, uncheck Set up my Pixel during onboarding. When you’re ready, click Connect.

4. On the next few screens, you will:

  • Select a Business portfolio (or create a new one)
  • Connect a Facebook Page (or create a new one)
  • Connect an Instagram profile (optional)
  • Select a catalog (or create a new one)
  • Select an ad account (or create a new one)
  • Select a Meta Pixel (or create a new one. This is optional.)
  • Confirm your commerce account

5. On the What is Bigcommerce allowed to do screen, you will need to confirm permissions for BigCommerce. Leave all permissions set to Yes, then click Next. The integration may not work correctly if you turn off any of these options.

6. 6. Click Done to return to BigCommerce and complete the setup process. Do not navigate away from this screen, as doing so can cause the channel to disconnect.

Facebook connected to BigCommerce successfully

Once connected, you will be able to assign products to the Facebook channel, and the Facebook Pixel will be installed on your storefront (if enabled during setup).

Before your Shop can be published (and your products are live on Facebook or Instagram), you will need to verify your connected business and provide additional information in Meta Commerce Manager. See Facebook Shops for more details and instructions.

FAQ

Is Meta for BigCommerce compatible with Multi-Storefront?

Our native Meta for BigCommerce integration can only be set up with the default storefront. If you need separate Meta accounts for additional storefronts, consider using Feedonomics or another multi-storefront compatible feed or listing solution.

How do I get help with Facebook onboarding issues?

If you encounter any errors or issues while attempting to go through the Facebook onboarding process, use the Contact us link at the bottom of the onboarding window.

After submitting the form describing your issue, be sure to record your Facebook ticket number. While the BigCommerce support team cannot troubleshoot Facebook onboarding issues directly, we may request this ticket number.
