Tilopay is a payment platform operating in 27 countries throughout Central America and the Caribbean. With a quick, easy, and secure integration, Tilopay allows you to process payments from around the world, and settle in local currencies.

Requirements
- You must have an active Tilopay account. If you do not currently have one, complete this registration form to receive your account credentials.
- Your store must meet the Account Eligibility requirements for country, currency, and products.
- Your store must use Optimized One-Page Checkout.
- The Manage Payments and Manage Settings user permissions must be enabled in your user account.
Setting up Tilopay
Once your Tilopay merchant account is approved and you receive your account credentials, you can connect your Tilopay account to your BigCommerce store.
To set up Tilopay in the BigCommerce control panel, go to Store Setup › Payments and select Tilopay from the list of Online Payment Methods.
Enter your API Key, API User, and API Password in the corresponding fields.
Save your changes when done.
Credit/debit Cards
Click Enable to offer the credit and debit card payment method on your checkout, then choose the Transaction Type from the dropdown. You can customize the Display Name that shoppers will see during checkout.
To allow your shoppers to pay for their order using American Express, check the Allow amex card box.
- Display Name — Control how the credit/debit card payment method appears on the checkout page. We recommend something like Credit/Debit.
- Transaction Type — Select Authorize and capture or Authorize Only. Authorize Only allows you to capture the funds manually. See Manually Capturing Transactions (Authorize Only) for more information.
Alternative Payment Methods (APMs)
Tilopay offers a variety of alternative payment methods, allowing you to offer your shoppers more ways to pay. You must enable each payment method in your Tilopay dashboard under Settings before you can enable them in the BigCommerce control panel.

Once you’ve enabled an APM in your merchant account, you can enable them in the BigCommerce control panel by navigating to the Tilo Settings tab in Settings › Payments, and clicking the Enable button. You can choose the Transaction Type from the dropdown, and customize the Display name.

What items are restricted for merchants to sell?
Tilopay prohibits the sale of the following goods and services:
- products and services that infringe on intellectual property rights
- illegal products and services
- adult content and services
- gambling
- products and services that are unfair, predatory, or deceptive
- payment Facilitators
- firearms, explosives, and dangerous materials
Can I use a different Tilopay account for each storefront?
No. All storefronts use the same account.
Transactions
After I create an account, what is the waiting period before I can process transactions?
Your account will be approved within 24 hours. However, your account credentials are available immediately after registration.
How long until the funds are transferred to my bank?
Settlements can occur daily, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.
Will I or my customers receive an additional email or invoice from Tilopay?
Yes, Tilopay sends email notifications to customers that choose to save their payment details. Merchants receive emails informing them of account activity, invoices, and transaction reports.
Refunds
How soon after a transaction can I perform a refund?
Refunds can be performed immediately after a transaction. Application times vary depending on the payment method used and the issuing bank.
Is there an amount of time after which I cannot perform a refund?
Refunds cannot be performed 3 months after the authorization date.
Are there any fees for chargebacks/refunds?
Chargebacks do not carry any additional fees. Refunds have a transaction fee of $0.35.
Additional Features
Are there any fraud filtering options available?
Tilopay uses automated advanced anti-fraud and blacklisting technologies, and merchants are not required to perform any additional actions. If a merchant does suspect fraudulent activities, they can contact the Tilopay support team to report it, and Tilopay will investigate and update the black lists.
All anti-fraud and security features are already integrated on the gateway — no action is required to enable them.
Does Tilopay allow 'authorize-only'?
Yes, merchants can choose Authorize Only and manually capture partial or complete payments.
Does Tilopay support recurring/subscription payments?
Yes, Tilopay can process both recurring and subscription payments.
Does Tilopay support multi-currency?

Does Tilopay support cryptocurrency?
Yes, Tilopay allows merchants to enable cryptocurrency payments through IBEXPay.
Troubleshooting and Payment Disputes
Why did my shopper receive an error when trying to pay?
Payment errors are detailed in the transaction table, located in the Transactions area in the Tilopay admin dashboard. You can also contact Tilopay support for further assistance.
How are payment disputes handled?
Chargebacks are notified to the merchant through email. Merchants that choose to dispute the chargeback are required to respond with transaction documentation within 3 days of notification.
