Moneris is a multi-functional online payment solution for business owners. Using Moneris, you can securely accept and process payments directly from your website.

Moneris works with Apple Pay. Once enabled, the Moneris payment gateway allows you to set up Apple Pay, giving your customers even more payment options on the cart and checkout. Before enabling Apple Pay in BigCommerce, it will need to be enabled on your Moneris account. Contact your Moneris service manager if you are not sure whether you have this feature.

Requirements

To use Moneris, your store must meet the following requirements:

2. You will be taken to the Moneris Settings tab. Create a Moneris test and/or live account from the "Get Started" section of the settings page.

3. Configure your Moneris Hosted Tokenization option. In the Moneris Merchant Resource Center, go to AdminHosted Tokenization. Enter your store's root domain (like https://domain.com), then click Create Profile. Take note of the Profile ID — you will need this during the next step.

Note: If your Search Engine Optimization settings are configured to Redirect no WWW to WWW, you will need to enter your store's www. subdomain (like https://www.domain.com) in order to generate a valid Profile ID.

4. Copy and paste the merchant credentials provided by Moneris into the corresponding API Token, Store ID, and Profile ID fields.

  • Display Name — Control how the payment gateway appears at checkout. We recommend something like Credit/Debit.
  • API Token — API Token provided by Moneris. In the Moneris Merchant Resource Center, go to AdminStore Settings to view the token.
  • Store ID — Store ID provided by Moneris
  • Profile ID — Profile ID provide by Moneris. In the Moneris Merchant Resource Center, go to AdminHosted Tokenization. The Checkout Profile ID must be generated by an admin level user.
  • Transaction Type — Set to Authorize & Capture or Authorize Only. Authorize Only allows you to capture the funds manually. See Manually Capturing Transactions (Authorize Only) to learn more.
  • Test Mode — Determines whether your store is in Test Mode. Set it to No (Recommended) when you are ready to take payments.
