Logging In to Your Store

This guide provides instructions for logging into your BigCommerce store’s control panel where you manage products, orders, customers, and most other features of your store.

Logging In

1. Go to the BigCommerce Login Page.

2. Enter your full email address and your password. Unless you have already updated it, this will be the password you entered when creating the account.

Logging In with SSO

 

What's 'Log in with SSO'? Single sign-on authentication using a custom domain is currently in closed beta. Interested in using SSO with your identity provider? Sign up and we'll notify you when Single Sign-On (SSO) for custom domains is available.

Before logging in with SSO, make sure you or another BigCommerce user have created an equivalent user account in your BigCommerce store and have set up the user in your identity provider.

Supported Identity Providers

  • Sailpoint
  • Active Directory (coming soon)

If your email domain (e.g. name@mydomain.com) does not match the email domain managed by your identity provider, you’ll need to click the Log in with SSO link and enter your SSO email address.

Troubleshooting

If you'd like assistance from our support team with login issues, please feel free to reach out to our 24/7 phone support team. We ask that you call in for assistance with login issues, since our chat and email support requires your support PIN, which you may be unable to access. You will need to provide the credit card number used for billing.

 

Need help logging in with SSO? The following troubleshooting steps are for users with standard logins. SSO users should contact your Identity Provider administrator for help or issues related to logging in with SSO.

Email Address or Password is Incorrect

If your email address or password is not being accepted, or you don't remember your password, try resetting your password from the log in screen by clicking Forgot?. An email containing a password reset link will be sent to your email address.

If the email does not arrive within 20 minutes, it may have gone into your email's spam filter or you may be using an incorrect email address. Also, keep the following in mind:

  • the reset password email can take up to 20 minutes to send
  • your control panel password may or may not be the same as your billing area password

If you have already followed these steps and are still unable to log in or would prefer 1 on 1 assistance, please reach out to our support team.

Forgot Email Address

If you're not sure which email address is connected to your user account, please reach out to our support team by phone so that we may assist you. You will need to provide the credit card number used to pay for the account.

Account is Locked

If you've attempted to log in multiple times but your credentials have been rejected, you will be locked out of your account for 30 minutes. You can wait for 30 minutes then try again (or click Forgot?) or follow the steps in the link below to unlock your account immediately.

Login Screen Refreshes with No Error

If you've submitted your email address and password, and the login screen refreshes but does not display any error message, you may need to enable third-party cookies in your browser. See Allowing Third-Party Cookies to be Set In Your Browser for detailed instructions.

Suspended or Cancelled Account

If your account has been suspended or cancelled, you will not be able to log into your store's control panel, but will still have access to your billing area. See Managing Billing and Account Details for information on logging into your billing area.
