Checkout Settings

You can control the many aspects of your checkout both behind the scenes and live on your storefront through your checkout settings. To access your checkout settings, go to Advanced SettingsCheckout.

Checkout Settings

Checkout Type

If you're using a legacy theme (blueprint), choose between:

Blueprint checkout types

  • Single page express checkout (Recommended) — Our standard one-page checkout which supports all platform features. Fonts and colors can be customized by modifying the theme files.
  • Optimized one-page checkout (Early access) — Our new, experimental one-page checkout, which is in an early-access phase. Includes new enhancements like persistent cart summary, credit-card type detection, and optional account creation. Not all platform features and payment gateways are currently supported.
  • Multiple page checkout — In multiple page checkout, customers complete each step of the checkout process on a separate page.

If you're using a Stencil theme, choose between:

Stencil checkout types

  • One-page checkout (Recommended) — Our standard one-page checkout which supports all platform features.
  • Custom one-page checkout (for developers) — Coding skills required. Perform advanced customizations like modifying your checkout layout, inserting trust seals, or adding custom JavaScript.

Enable Guest Checkout

Guest checkout setting

Select whether you would like customers to be able to check out without creating an account.

  • If a customer who checked out as a guest returns to your store, and uses the same email address, they will still be able to checkout as a guest.
  • You can also choose to automatically create an account for customers who check out as guests.
  • If a customer who checked out as a guest returns to your store, and uses the same email address, and you've chosen to automatically create an account for customers who checkout as a guest, they will still be able to checkout as a guest.
  • If a returning guest checkout customer wants to see details about their account, like their order history, or if they want to initiate a return request, they'll need to request a password reset using the same email address.

Enable Order Comments

Enable Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions setting

Select if you would like to require customers to agree to terms and conditions. You can opt to link to an existing terms and conditions page, or enter your terms and conditions here.

Multiple Shipping Addresses

Multiple shipping addresses setting

Enable customers to be able to ship orders to multiple addresses. Multiple Shipping Addresses requires Checkout Type to be set to Multiple page checkout.

Order Settings

Customer Email Notifications

Select which order statuses you would like to trigger an email notification to your customers. This is in addition to the Order Confirmation email, which is sent automatically. You can customize the email templates for both the Order Confirmation and Status update messages.

Customer email notification settings

Order status notifications are universal and apply to all customers. For example, you can't specify that a particular customer group doesn't get a particular status notification.

Be careful! There is no notification message for partially refunded orders. You'll need to manually notify your customer if you want to alert them to a partial refund.

Digital Product Settings
