To find your checkout settings, go to Advanced Settings › Checkout.
Checkout Type: Choose between Single page express checkout and Multiple page checkout for your customers. Choose Multiple page checkout if you are offering Multiple shipping addresses (see below).
Enable Guest Checkout: Select whether you would like customers to be able to checkout without creating an account.
- If a customer who checked out as a guest returns to your store, and uses the same email address, they will still be able to checkout as a guest.
- You can also choose to automatically create an account for customers who check out as guests.
- If a customer who checked out as a guest returns to your store, and uses the same email address, and you've chosen to automatically create an account for customers who checkout as a guest, they will still be able to checkout as a guest.
- If a returning guest checkout customer wants to see details about their account, like their order history, or if they want to initiate a return request, they'll need to request a password reset using the same email address.
Enable Order Comments: Enable customers to be able to enter comments with their order.
Enable Terms and Conditions: Select if you would like to require customers to agree to terms and conditions. You can opt to link to an existing terms and conditions page, or enter your terms and conditions here.
Multiple Shipping Addresses: Enable customers to be able to ship orders to multiple addresses.
Note: Multiple Shipping Addresses requires Checkout Type to be set to Multiple page checkout.
Customer Email Notifications: Select which order statuses you would like to trigger an email notification to your customers. This is in addition to the Order Confirmation email, which is sent automatically. Order status notifications are universal and apply to all customers. You can't, for example, specify that a particular customer group doesn't get a particular status notification.
Don't forget to Save when you are finished.
You can customize the email templates for both the Order Confirmation and Status update messages.
