dLocal Payment Methods

dLocal is a payment platform that hosts multiple local payment methods in emerging markets. With dLocal, you can offer popular regional credit cards, cash voucher payments, digital wallets, and bank transfers to more than 33 markets — all in one place.

This chapter covers the process for enabling dLocal APMs in your store and provides a list of payment methods available in our dLocal integration. To learn more about the features, requirements, and setup for the dLocal payment gateway, see Connecting with dLocal.

In order to offer a payment method in a certain region, you must contact dLocal and request for it to be included in your merchant account. Note that separate requests are needed for each individual payment method and market.

Once the payment method has been added to your account, go to dLocal Payment Settings in Settings › Payments and enable the credit/debit card and hosted payment methods.

Shoppers meeting the requirements will see the option to pay using a credit/debit card or via one of the hosted payment methods at checkout.

If the shopper proceeds with a hosted payment, they will be prompted to select from the APMs that are available in their region and complete their transaction.

Orders placed with dLocal’s credit/debit card payment methods appear in your control panel as Credit Card in the Payment Method field, while hosted payments will appear as Hosted by dLocal.

Most dLocal orders share the same fulfillment process as typical orders. If a shopper uses a cash payment APM like Boleto Bancário or OXXO, their order will appear in the BigCommerce control panel with an Awaiting Payment status until the shopper pays their balance. Once paid, the status will automatically update to Awaiting Fulfillment, indicating that the order can be processed.

  • You must meet dLocal’s merchant requirements.
  • You must offer the transactional currency associated with the payment method. See Available Payment Methods for more information.
  • Your store must use Optimized One-Page Checkout.

• Limitations
  • Manual capture is supported with dLocal’s credit/debit card payment methods, but not with the hosted payment methods.

How can I determine which payment method was used to place an order?

In your dLocal merchant account, you can view the payment method associated with a transaction from the Transactions tab. In your BigCommerce control panel, locate the order’s Transaction ID value in order to identify the corresponding transaction in dLocal.

Are recurring or subscription payments supported by dLocal payment methods?
