By providing links to your social media accounts, you can encourage shoppers to follow you and share your business and products with their friends and followers. This can increase your reach when marketing new products, announcing sales, or running special events.
You can include links to your different social media accounts (like Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram) on your storefront. Additionally, you can add icons to products and blog posts so shoppers can share them on their social media page.
Supported Social Media Platforms
Below is a table of the social media platforms we support and where they can be displayed in your store. In addition to social media icons, you can also display Email and Print icons on product pages and blog posts.

Adding and Linking a Social Media Icon
You can enable social media icons from different areas of the control panel, depending on where you want to display them in your store.
Adding Share Icons to Products and Blog Posts
Share icons can be managed from Settings › General, under the Share tab. The social sharing settings control what options your customers are provided with to share your products across various social media sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.
Click on a social network to turn on the sharing icon for that network. Click an active social network to deactivate sharing, and the button will be greyed out.
The social sharing icons are usually displayed on product pages below the "Add to Cart" button, and on blog posts.
Enabling the Facebook “Like” button? In order to display the Facebook Like or Recommend button on your product pages and blog posts, you must provide your Facebook user ID. See Enabling Facebook Likes for detailed instructions.
Adding Social Media Icons to the Footer
Go to Storefront › Social Media Links in the BigCommerce control panel. To enable an icon, click and drag it from the Available Networks list at the bottom of the page to the Live on Your Storefront list above it. Only six icons may be enabled at one time.
Enter the URL of your social media account in the field labeled Paste link.
To change the order, click and drag the active icons up or down in the list. You can remove icons by clicking the X to the right of the icon.
Customization Options
The location and colors of the icons can be adjusted to best suit the design of your storefront. Most Stencil themes have the ability to adjust icons within Page Builder.
This information references settings in the Cornerstone theme. Check your theme’s documentation if you are unable to find these settings in Page Builder.
You can change the color of your social media icons on products, blog posts, and in the footer from Buttons & Icons in Page Builder.
Some themes allow you to further customize your social media icons from Header & Footer in Page Builder. Check the box next to Show social media icons to display your footer icons in the header as well. The Footer Placement dropdown allows you to display your social media icons to the left or right of the footer, or remove them altogether.
If these options are not available for your store's theme, the location of the social media icons can be changed by directly editing the theme files. If you would like to make these changes yourself, the Themes & Design Community Q&A group provides advice from fellow merchants and developers.
If you would prefer to hire a developer, consider using the Agency Design Request to place a design and customization job request with a BigCommerce partner.
FAQ
Why are the icons not showing up?
In Page Builder, some themes allow you to hide the social media icons by setting the location to 'None' or 'hide'. If you notice this on your store, set a new location for the social media icons to appear.
Can I change the order that my icons appear in?
The social media icons in the footer can be changed by clicking and dragging them up or down the list in Storefront › Social Media Links. The share icons in your product pages and blog posts can only be rearranged by editing your theme files.
How do I sell my products through social media?
Selling products through social media is handled in another area of the control panel. See Selling Everywhere with Channel Manager.
