Segment.com is a customer data platform designed to help you collect, clean, and control your customer data. BigCommerce has a native integration that will put storefront shopper behavioral data into your Segment account. As shoppers visit your storefront, their visits, pageviews, and clicks are sent to Segment.com in real time.

Beta: This feature is currently in beta and may not yet be available for all stores.

How It Works

As shoppers visit your storefront, their visits, pageviews, and clicks are sent to Segment.com in real-time. This integration does not include orders that happen outside of your online storefront (like manual orders, API orders, or orders from a marketplace like Amazon or eBay).

To fully explore the exact data set that is included, we recommend signing up for a free Segment.com trial and trying it out on a test BigCommerce store or trial.

  • This integration is only available to BigCommerce Pro and Enterprise plans.
  • As shoppers visit your website, their visits, pageviews, and clicks are sent to Segment.com in real time as JSON events via a javascript tracking script.

Requirements

  • This integration is only available to BigCommerce Pro and Enterprise plans.
  • You need a Segment.com account to use this solution.
  • By default, only the store owner user has access to this integration. To grant other users access you'll need to enable the Manage Customer Data Platforms permission.

Compatibility with Google Analytics

If you've already set up Google Analytics 4 (GA4) in BigCommerce, we recommend you disable it in BigCommerce and only enable it within Segment.com. Your BigCommerce data will not be sent to Segment.com while you have GA4 set up in BigCommerce.

To disable GA4 in BigCommerce, go to SettingsData solutions. Click the ⋯ settings button, then Disconnect.
