Walmart’s online marketplace attracts nearly 120 million unique visitors per month and can be an effective way of gaining exposure for your products and brand. BigCommerce works as a full-service solution provider so can add and manage your Walmart listings, inventory, and orders.
Requirements
To apply to Walmart Marketplace, you’ll need the following credentials:
- US Business Tax ID (EIN) and Form W-9
- GTIN/UPC GS1 Company Prefix Number
As a seller, you’ll need to show:
- You have a history of marketplace or ecommerce success.
- Your product catalog enhances the Walmart.com assortment.
- Your products are competitively priced.
- You have a track record of first-class customer service.
- You are capable of fast and reliable fulfillment via:
- your own B2C US warehouse with shipping and returns capability,
- enrollment in Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS), or
- an approved 3PL fulfillment provider, like Deliverr.
Setup
Go to Channel Manager and click + Create Channel.
Under Marketplaces, click Connect next to Walmart.
On the next page, click Apply to sell to begin the application process.
Submit Your Application
After clicking Apply to sell, you’ll be redirected to Walmart Marketplace. Make sure you have the required information available and click Start Application when you’re ready.
On the next few pages, you’ll provide information about your business, then click Submit Form. Walmart Marketplace will review your application and reach out to you using the email and phone number you provided.
Create an Account in Seller Center
You will receive an email from Walmart Marketplace Onboarding granting conditional approval. This email contains a registration link that will allow you to create an account in Seller Center.
Within Seller Center, you will create a password, review the retailer agreement, read and agree to the terms and conditions, register your company, review and accept your Form W-9 tax information, set up a payment partner (how Walmart pays you), and set up your first shipping template.
Launch Checklist
In Seller Center, click Launch Checklist. Complete Registration and Complete Payment Information should show as already completed. Click View next to Complete your Partner Profile. Your profile is divided into various sections; you’ll need to complete them all before you’ll be ready to launch.
For Item Setup, you will be using a “Solution Provider”. Refer to your provider’s app help or documentation for details on setting up your items in Marketplace.
Note: Do not submit/upload test items to Walmart Marketplace.

FAQ
Does it cost anything to sell on Walmart Marketplace?
There are no setup, subscription, or monthly fees from Walmart. Walmart deducts a referral fee for every sale that takes place on their site.
There is no additional fee or charge from BigCommerce to sell on Walmart Marketplace. However, if your provider sends orders into the BigCommerce control panel, then those sales are included in your store’s trailing 12-month GMV, which is used to determine your BigCommerce subscription plan.
There may be service subscription fees charged by the provider you use to connect with Walmart.
Is there a limit to the number of products I can list?
No, there are no SKU minimums or maximums.
How do I get paid?
Funds are deposited into your preferred US bank account on a bi-weekly schedule (every 14 days).
What is Walmart Fulfillment Services?
Walmart offers the Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) program, which provides low-cost storage and fulfillment services. When a customer places an order on Walmart.com, WFS picks, packs, and ships the item(s) to the customer on your behalf. Using WFS also provides access to Walmart’s Free & Easy Returns program, which allows customers to return products online or in Walmart stores.
What is Walmart TwoDay?
Walmart TwoDay is a seller-fulfilled shipping program you can join to offer free 2-day delivery to customers. When enabled, it shows a “Free 2-day delivery” tag on your product listings. Sellers can use TwoDay with their own self-fulfillment operation, or via third-party management with Deliverr.
Can I use BigCommerce to sell on Walmart Marketplace as a Drop Ship Vendor (DSV)?
BigCommerce providers do not support selling as a DSV, only as a Seller.
