Pix is a payment method for instant direct bank transfers in Brazil, developed by Banco Central Do Brasil and operated by Brazilian banks, digital accounts, and wallets. With features like bypassing credit card entry and in-app payment authentication, Pix is a secure, and hassle-free checkout experience for your shoppers.
How It Works
Once you’ve connected Pix, shoppers meeting the requirements will see it as an available payment option at checkout.
When the shopper proceeds with the order, a pop-up window opens with a QR code or QR code data for them to copy. Next, the shopper opens their participating banking or wallet app and selects Pix. There, they can scan the QR code or paste the QR code data, then confirm the payment.
Before approving the payment, Pix checks if the transaction meets the necessary conditions. If approved, the amount is transferred in real-time from the shopper's account to Adyen.
After the order is placed, it will appear in your control panel as Pix (via gateway) in the Payment Method field. Orders placed using Pix share the same fulfillment process as typical orders.
