MB WAY is a popular mobile payment method in Portugal. With MB WAY, shoppers can skip credit card entry and pay directly from their mobile app, saving time and reducing friction at checkout.

This article contains information specific to Multibanco’s MB WAY app payment method. To learn about enabling cash voucher payments with Multibanco, see Multibanco.

How It Works

Once connected, shoppers meeting the requirements will see MB WAY as an available payment method at checkout.

MB WAY on the checkout page

When the shopper enters their mobile number and proceeds with their order, they will be prompted to complete the transaction in the MB WAY app.

The MB WAY payment window

After the order has been placed, it will appear in your control panel as mbway (via gateway) in the Payment Method field. Orders placed using MB WAY share the same fulfillment process as typical orders.

FAQ

Can I partially refund an order placed with MB WAY?

Yes, MB WAY orders can be partially refunded a single time. However, multiple partial refunds are not supported. If you need to provide an additional partial refund on an order, you must contact the shopper and organize the refund outside of MB WAY, such as through a direct payout to the shopper's card or through bank transfer.
