Bankers’ Automated Clearing Services (BACS) is a popular direct debit payment method in the United Kingdom. Using a UK bank account, shoppers can make easy and secure payments in your store without needing to enter credit card details.
How It Works
Once connected, shoppers meeting the requirements will see it as an available payment option at checkout. They will be prompted to enter their full name, address, sort code, and bank account number before proceeding with the order.
Orders placed with BACS appear in your control panel as BACS Direct Debit (via Stripe) in the payment method field, with a status of Awaiting Payment.
When the payment is successfully processed following delayed capture, the status will automatically update to Awaiting Fulfillment, indicating that the order is ready for fulfillment. If the payment fails, the order will be updated to Declined instead.
