Alipay is the most widely used third-party online payment service provider in China. Its primary product is a digital wallet, Alipay Wallet, which also includes a mobile app that allows customers to conduct transactions directly from their mobile devices.

Alipay supports major credit and debit card types, including American Express, Mastercard, and Visa. Since Alipay requires user authentication to complete a payment, it also offers a lower risk of fraud and payment disputes.

How It Works

Once enabled, shoppers that meet the requirements will see Alipay at the Payment step of checkout.

Alipay as an available payment method at checkout

After selecting Alipay and proceeding with the order, the shopper will be redirected to Alipay’s payment page, where they can sign into their Alipay account or use the Alipay mobile app to complete their payment.

After an order has been placed, it will appear in your control panel as gateway (Alipay) or Alipay (via gateway) in the Payment Method field. Orders placed using Alipay share the same fulfillment process as typical orders.
