Afterpay is a trusted and convenient Buy Now, Pay Later solution. Your shoppers can pay for orders in four-interest free installments, while Afterpay pays you immediately and assumes full fraud risk. Afterpay makes it easier for your shoppers to purchase big-ticket items, leading to improved conversion rates, reduced cart abandonment, and increased average order value.
This article contains information specific to the Afterpay integration available via Adyen. To learn about the standalone payment gateway, see Connecting with Afterpay.
How It Works
Once connected, shoppers that meet the requirements will see Afterpay as an available payment method at checkout.
When the shopper proceeds with their order, they will be redirected to the Afterpay payment page and prompted to enter their email or mobile number. Afterpay will perform a risk check on the shopper, and approve or reject the payment based on the results.
After the order has been placed, it will appear in your control panel as afterpay (via gateway) in the Payment Method field. Since Afterpay pays you up front for approved transactions, you can process Afterpay orders as you would any typical order.
