The Additional Script Tags Variable (Blueprint)

The additional script tags variable is a piece of code that is included in every legacy Blueprint Themes. It allows BigCommerce to introduce new scripts to your theme that are required for new features or updates to existing features to function properly.

Be careful! Removing or commenting out this variable will keep certain features of your storefront from functioning properly.

Example of the %%GLOBAL_AdditionalScriptTags%% variable in a BigCommerce template file.

If you notice that a feature of your store is no longer functioning properly, verify that this variable has not been removed by following these steps.

1. Go to Storefront Design › Design Options. Then click on Edit HTML/CSS.

2. In the list of Files used by this template on the left, select HTMLHead.html.

3. Scroll to the bottom of the file, and look for the %%GLOBAL_AdditionalScriptTags%% variable. If the variable is not present, copy and paste it on an empty line above the closing </head> tag.

4. Save your changes.
