Removing the 'Powered by BigCommerce' Link from Your Store's Footer (Blueprint)

These instructions apply to our free, legacy Blueprint themes that have not been customized. For Stencil-based themes, the Stencil Theme Editor can be used to remove theme credits. See Removing 'Powered by BigCommerce' from Stencil Themes for more information.

The BigCommerce Support Team may not be able assist with issues that occur after modifying a previously customized theme. As always, we recommend backing up your current theme customizations before making any changes.

1. Go to Storefront Design › Design Options, then click Edit HTML/CSS.

Edit HTML/CSS button in the Design Options screen

2. In the list of Other Template Files on the left, select Footer.html.

The Footer.html template file.

Use Ctrl F or Command F to quickly locate template files in the list.

3. Locate and delete the following code from the file:

4. Save your changes.

Some themes may implement the powered-by code differently. Use CTRL F or Command F to locate %%GLOBAL_PoweredBy%% and remove the element (e.g. paragraph tag, span tag) displaying it.

Save the changes

If you are trying to remove the link from the mobile version of your site, you can do so by following the steps for customizing your mobile template and remove the variable %%Global_PoweredBy%% from the footer.html file.
