Advertising with Pinterest

Pinterest is a site where users create a collection of links to sites, images, or videos that relate to a common idea or theme. It can be a useful platform to promote products since Pinterest can be like a visual wishlist.

Rich Pins are supported by all Stencil themes. Note that if your store is using a legacy Blueprint theme that has been heavily customized or is missing the %%GLOBAL_AdditionalMetaTags%% variable from certain themes files, this feature may not work.

What Are Rich Pins?

Rich Pins are just like regular pins, but they include real-time information about your product, including:

  • Product price
  • Stock level
  • Product description

There is a link to the product page on the rich pin in Pinterest.

Claiming Your Store with Pinterest

Confirming ownership of your site is required prior to pinning products. Your Pinterest profile picture will appear alongside pins and other Pinterest users will have the option to follow you. It also gives you access to Pinterest Analytics, which tracks and reports visitor interactions with your Pins.

To claim your website, log into your Pinterest account. Click the dropdown arrow in the top right, then select Settings.
